Her view on prayer is interesting (I love the connections to her interactions with her teenage sone) and I can see the idea of alignment from what little we have from this interview. I may not know that the purpose of prayer is alignment, but through my asking for things and seeing the different ways that God answers my prayers, I can start to see the principle of alignment.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4350708424733161931.post-22762001985533375772008-08-17T09:37:00.000-05:002008-08-17T09:37:00.000-05:00I've been studing "A Course In Miracles", and acco...I've been studing "A Course In Miracles", and according to that "we don't ask God for to much, we ask God for too little". I feel we must start seeing ourselves as God sees us, as His most amazing creation of love, made in his likeness, and to see everyone else in the same way, and treat them and ourselves accordingly. Sorry for the run on sentence. BTW..love the videos of Jessica and the baby. I hope you do a audio book of Churched. I am really struggling with how to further my relationship with God right now. That is my true desire, but I seem to have a hard time actually moving. I am searching, and I think this book will answer part of the search. Thank you again.kvhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04119830305964410998noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4350708424733161931.post-12734998100646515522008-08-14T15:32:00.000-05:002008-08-14T15:32:00.000-05:00I'm still waiting on that pony.I'm still waiting on that pony.Terronihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11737715891767920516noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4350708424733161931.post-74211048053604750542008-08-14T15:26:00.000-05:002008-08-14T15:26:00.000-05:00First of all, I was just pointed by your blog toda...First of all, I was just pointed by your blog today by a friend. I love it! It's so nice to "meet" people who feel the same way I do, and unapologetically so.

Also, this book sounds wonderful, like more of the same benefit I get from your blog. I'll enter your wife's giveaway (and then go buy it when I don't win).Amberhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16887583730787310290noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4350708424733161931.post-82279947275753223752008-08-14T13:32:00.000-05:002008-08-14T13:32:00.000-05:00yes i am. he spoke on it this past sunday.yes i am. he spoke on it this past sunday.Relevant-ISH Pastorhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15223961946151751711noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4350708424733161931.post-15298750437070726422008-08-14T11:53:00.000-05:002008-08-14T11:53:00.000-05:00You talking about Mark Driscoll? You talking about Mark Driscoll?Matthew Paul Turnerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14680730064203880839noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4350708424733161931.post-70802170623750361972008-08-14T11:52:00.000-05:002008-08-14T11:52:00.000-05:00This was really good for me... I'm the type to pray like she says... constantly throughout the day rather than in a structured way, but I'm not an asker. I always stop and wonder if I should ask - because what if I want something that he doesn't want for me? I SO got what she was referring to. I think it's the whole not-wanting-to-be-selfish-thing.

Anyway... it made me think. Thanks!

sara
http://www.gitzengirl.blogspot.comSarahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13827576212732423982noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4350708424733161931.post-41356798282101867022008-08-14T11:51:00.000-05:002008-08-14T11:51:00.000-05:00i get what she is saying, and i have thought this ...i get what she is saying, and i have thought this way before too. but by the example of Jesus i think you tell God your desire, but then you always pray "if it is your will" each prayer Jesus uttered contains this, and i think we do it also. God doesnt really say "yes, no or wait" he gives the right answer. In praying in a way to get what we want, it is as Driscoll says "we have written the script for our lives, and we only pray for God to read the lines we have written". I think there is alot to be said for that line of thinking. Seems like a good book, but i think i may beg to different on at least that one response.Relevant-ISH Pastorhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15223961946151751711noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4350708424733161931.post-13840045284720769792008-08-14T11:16:00.000-05:002008-08-14T11:16:00.000-05:00I've got this book in a stack where it would've st...I've got this book in a stack where it would've stayed - but now it's moving to the next-in-line position, the on-deck circle.
